In December 2003, the national petroleum company of Venezuela, PDVSA, contracted Proutist Universal, a global educational and community service organization, to give 3-day training to two groups of supervisors and workers in the telecommunications, planning and cooperatives departments. Dr. Michael Towsey, a university lecturer, came from Australia, and Dada Maheshvarananda, a monk from North America and author of the book “After Capitalism: Prout’s Vision for a New World,” came from Denmark.
The
presentations included:
Principles of
Prout (Progressive
Utilization Theory), a new socio-economic model based on economic
self-sufficiency, cooperatives, environmental balance and universal
spiritual values
Other
appropriate planning tools
Some examples of local initiatives by Proutists and other groups around the world that illustrate the principles.
While the presentations include some focus on Venezuela, almost all of the slides are relevant to any economy. A full DVD film, in English and in Spanish, of the 20-hour training course is also available from Proutist Universal.
The
global consulting services and support network of Proutist Universal are
committed to continue future assistance to Venezuela and all other countries and
communities in their efforts to pursue sustainable development for the welfare
of all.
